Run it weekly with your crew

The NHL plays every night, but the pool doesn't have to run all season: spin up a fresh pool each week — Monday through Sunday — or make it a Saturday-nights-only ritual. A few days of commitment, a champion crowned every week.

Someone misses a week? They just catch the next one — nobody falls behind, nobody checks out. Set your props once, drop one link in the group chat, and settle it all over again next week.

How scoring works

Pool commissioners choose as many of these props as they want for their pool, and set the points for each correct prediction — no two pools have to look the same.

Winner
Pick the team that wins — in regulation, overtime, or the shootout. There are no ties in the NHL, so someone always wins.
Method of Victory
How the game is decided: in regulation, or needing overtime / a shootout.
First Team to Score
Which team scores the first goal of the game.
Last Team to Score
Which team scores the last goal. Shootout goals don't count.
A Scoreless Period
Does any of the three regulation periods finish 0-0?
Leading After 1st Period
Who leads after the 1st period — Team A, Team B, or tied.
Leading After 2nd Period
Who leads after two periods — combined score, not just the 2nd.
Goal in First 2 Min of Any Period
Does anyone score in the opening two minutes of any regulation period?
Goal in First 5 Min of the Game
Does anyone score in the game's first five minutes?
First Team to 3 Goals
Which team reaches 3 goals first — or neither, if nobody gets there.
Fighting Major Assessed
Do the gloves come off? Is a fighting major handed out at any point?
Any Player Scores 2+ Goals
Does any player, on either team, score twice or more?
Any Player Scores a Hat Trick
Three goals, one player, hats on the ice.
Any Player Records 3+ Points
Does any player rack up 3 or more points — goals plus assists?
Margin of Victory
The winning margin: 1-2, 3-4, or 5+ goals. An OT or shootout win always counts as 1.
Total Goals Odd or Even
Is the final combined score odd or even? Counts the OT/shootout winner's goal.
